This studio album is a collaborative project that came together to record a collection of songs by Natisha Sands. The album was recorded and mixed by Casey Hartnett (Sleep Decade, Sui Zhen, Sagamore) at Pocket Full of Stones Recording Studio in Point Lonsdale, Australia, during a scorching summer heatwave in 2019. The songs reflect the ebb and flow of coastal life, where the movement of the tides and direction of the wind is everyday conversation. With no aircon in the ramshackle studio and barefoot musicians, the vibe was (very) warm and laid-back. The collaboration was also quite the family affair, producing a sound that is intimate, personal and familiar. The album was mastered in analogue by Nick Huggins (Two Bright Lakes, Little Lake Records) on an ancient but highly functional reel-to-reel tape recorder, which didn't miss a beat in spite of the sweltering heat.
REVIEWS
Louder Than War (feb 2021): "Intense, scorched, desert-like heat. It’s a collection that feels like the sun beating down from its apogee at high noon whilst a buzzard circles overhead. It’s a cantina located close to the border. It’s late night noir, motel room ceiling-fan pointlessly whirring above. Much of that feeling is created by the intimate feel to the songs. As the music unfolds, it feels like it’s wrapping itself around you." Read the full review here:

"Wow the tones are giving me goosebumps - what a wonderful recording and great song. Definitely evoking some really homespun analogue feelings...Windswept beach music. Love the tune and the way its been made."
